Normally, most electrical energy consumption in a wastewater treatment plant comes from screw blowers which produce the air through a pipe located at the bottom of the aeration tank before being released via the air diffuser. This air diffuser then creates air bubbles for transferring oxygen into the wastewater which will be used for stimulating the growth of aerobic microorganisms.
