STRONG QC & QA

could endanger human health. There are two kinds of
HCs: one for the export of fruits and vegetables and the
other for the export of processed products; both are issued
                     by the Department of Agriculture.

                     Meat Products
All meat products must meet the importing country’s
standards and have a health certificate issued by the
exporting country’s relevant agencies to ensure that
products are safe for human consumption and that no
animal disease has been detected. Along with that,
manufacturers of livestock products both for human
consumption and livestock feed must also obtain an export
certificate from the Department of Livestock Development.
When exporting to some countries, such as Japan or
China, it is also necessary for the manufacturers to first
register with the exporting country. In this kind of situation,
Thailand’s Department of Livestock Development (DLD)
will submit to the importing country a list of factories
seeking registration for necessary review. Interested
manufacturers can contact the DLD to request an HC
                     inspection.

                     Fisheries and Seafood Products
All fishery products and ornamental aquatics must be
accompanied by a health and sanitary certificate issued
by the Fish Inspection and Quality Control Division of the
Department of Fisheries to maintain standards and
ensure that the aquatic creatures are free of disease.
As with other exported products, the conditions may
vary depending on the importing country. Some export
destinations may require specific inspection for
microbes and hazardous chemicals, while others may
not. As for fishery products, extra precautions have
also been taken to ensure that the production
process, staff, and production environment are free of
                     coronavirus.
However, all agricultural, fishery, and food products
must meet the standards of the National Bureau of
Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards’ (ACFS)
requirements first to obtain a license for manufacturing,
importing, or exporting. Additionally, it is necessary for
importers and exporters to notify ACFS every time
they import or export agricultural products that meet
mandatory standards. This step can be done via the
online platform of ACFS. More information about the
standards and imported regulations can also be found
                     on its website.
