The Thai economy expanded 3.5
percent in2Q16, surpassing the3.2
percent growthprojectedearlier, thanks
toastrong rebound inhouseholdspend-
ing that rose3.8percent. Farmershave
seen their incomes edge up after the
drought subsided, resulting in greater
spendingonvehicleswhereinsalesgrew
astaggering13.1percent.Public invest-
ment which logged robust growth and
lucrative tourism receipts continued to
bemajor economic drivers in 1Q16.
During2H16, theThaieconomymay
be invigorated by the ‘Yes’ referendum
vote to the draft constitution, helping
brighten the investmentsentiment.How-
ever, our economy continues to be in
perilbecauseof theglobaleconomy that
is still limping along amid many issues
that requireaclosewatch.Someof them
are uncertainty over the US economy
during the presidential election in No-
vember and other trade partners’ eco-
nomic performance remaining in the
doldrums—the EU, Japan and China,
included.Moreover, the impactof recent
bombings in the South, especially on
tourism, will have tobeassessed.
Bearing this in mind, KResearch
believes that it is reasonable that we
should retain our GDP growth forecast
at 3.0 percent for the entirety of 2016,
whereinexport performancewill be fac-
tored in as well as the impact of the
explosions. It will probably revise the
estimate closer to the upper range of
2.5-3.5 percent later, if there is no pro-
found reaction to those attacks.
ศรษฐกิจไทยในไตรมาสที่ 2 ปี 2559 ขยายตัวได้ที่
ร้อยละ3.5 (YoY)สูงกว่าที่คาดการณ์ ไว้ที่ร้อยละ3.2
จากผลของการใช้ จ่ายภาคครั วเรือนที่ เร่งตัวขึ้ นถึง
ร้อยละ 3.8 ขณะที่รายได้เกษตรเริ่มปรับตัวดี ขึ้นหลัง
ภัยแล้งคลี่คลายก็ได้ส่งผลต่อเนื่องมายังการใช้จ่ ายเพื่อ
ซื้ อยานพาหนะที่เติ บโตสูงถึงร้ อยละ 13.1 นอกจากนี้
ยังมี การลงทุ นภาครัฐที่ เติบโตได้ ในระดั บสู งและ
ภาคการท่องเที่ยวที่ขยายตั วได้ดีเป็นตัวขั บเคลื่อนหลัก
ต่อเนื่องจากในไตรมาสแรกของปี
เศรษฐกิ จไทยในครึ่งหลังของปี 2559 แม้ว่าจะได้
รับปั จจั ยบวกจากผลประชามติ ของการรั บร่ าง
รัฐธรรมนูญฯ ที่ จะช่วยฟื้นบรรยากาศการลงทุ นภาค
เอกชน แต่ในขณะเดียวกั นยังเผชิญความเสี่ยงจาก
เศรษฐกิจโลกในหลายประเด็นที่ยังคงต้องติดตามอาทิ
ความไม่แน่นอนของเศรษฐกิจสหรัฐอเมริกาในช่ วงเวลา
การเลือกตั้งประธานาธิบดีที่จะมี ขึ้นในเดือนพฤศจิกายน
2559 หรือการชะลอตัวของเศรษฐกิจคู่ค้า ไม่ว่าจะเป็น
ยุโรปจีนหรือญี่ปุ่น รวมไปถึงผลกระทบจากเหตุ การณ์
ระเบิดในภาคใต้ที่ อาจจะต้องรอประเมินสถานการณ์
โดยเฉพาะผลที่มีต่อภาคการท่องเที่ ยว
ดั งนั้ น ศู นย์วิ จั ยกสิ กรไทยจึ งยังคงประมาณ
การเศรษฐกิจไทยตลอดทั้งปี 2559 ไว้ที่ร้อยละ 3.0
เพื่ อรอดูทิ ศทางการส่งออก รวมถึ งการประเมิ น
ผลกระทบจากเหตุการณ์ระเบิดในภาคใต้ ซึ่งหากปัจจัย
ดังกล่าวมี ทิศทางที่ดีกว่ าที่ประเมินไว้ อาจจะมีการ-
ทบทวนปรับเพิ่ มตัวเลขการคาดการณ์เศรษฐกิ จไทย
เข้าใกล้กรอบบนของช่วงคาดการณ์ (ช่ วงคาดการณ์ที่
ร้อยละ 2.5 -3.5)
