Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha gave a speech on
“DrivingThailand4.0:Agriculture,FoodandBiotechnology”onMarch
17,2017at9:30amat theChakrabandhuPensiriBuilding,Kasetsart
University Bang Khen Campus. The event was attended by
distinguishedguestssuchasMinisterAttached to thePrimeMinister’s
Office, Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives,
Associate Professor Dr.Viroj Impithuksa - President of Kasetsart
University Council, Dr.Chongrak Wachrinrat - Acting President of
Kasetsart University, university’sadministrativeofficers, professors,
officials from theMinistryofAgricultureandCooperatives,graduates,
university personnel andgeneral public.
Dr.ChongrakWachrinrat,ActingPresidentofKasetsartUniversity
reported thatKasetsartUniversity iscommitted tocreatingprosperous
land for thenation.Manypersonneland researches from theuniversity
have contributed to the nation’s agriculture sector, agro-industry

PrimeMinister General Prayut Chan-o-cha gave a special lectureon “DrivingThailand 4.0:Agriculture,
Food andBiotechnology”. The lecture focused on the use of technology and innovation to add values to
goods and services to improve people’s life and sustainability.
UniversityRankings in2017, the fourth inAsiaandNo.1 inThailand
on agriculture and forestry. Notably, it is the only university from
Thailand that made it to the global top50.
Moreover, Kasetsart UniversityhasadoptedThailand4.0policy,
through human resources development, by participating in several
projects such as STEM, Start-Up, Innovation Creation, and
Technology Transfer, to support farmers and enterprises in
collaborationwith funding institutions.Theuniversity isalsoapart of
Food Innopolis, whichwill be established at theFaculty of Science,
and Instituteof FoodResearchandProduct Development (IFRPD).
Recently, the university has launched a new subject “Knowledge of
theLand” toencouragestudents toapply the “PhilosophyofSufficient
Economy” of KingRama IX to drive innovation inmany aspects.
