The calibration of the More Information Service Info C007
checkweighers using only the
“standard weight” might be
insufficient to guarantee performance
and accuracy. The checkweigher is
working while the conveyer is
moving, or dynamic weight, which is
different from a standard scale or
static weight. Thus, using the
standard weight in calibration only
confirms the performance and
accuracy according to the standards.
Therefore, other tests are necessary
to measure actual performance and
efficiency.
After calibration with a standard
weight according to the OMIL R51
of the International Organization of
Legal Metrology, it mentioned the
actual performance and accuracy.
In this method, one object is weighed
repeatedly on the conveyor belt at
the actual operating speed and
position. The number of time
references is from Figure 2, the
values of which are then used to
measure for accuracy.
The machine at its best
performance will benefit the product
quality; therefore, the quality
assurance should be mindful of
calibration and selection of
reputable service providers with
good reliability, expertise, and ability
to educate the operators.
Furthermore, an international
standard service level will ease the
operators in running the machine
and controlling the products’ quality
and production process more
efficiently.
