STRENGTHEN THE PACKAGING

business strategies, providing many attractive offers
and services, many manufacturers may start thinking
of buying in a larger quantity – which, sometimes,
beyond the capacity of the trader – instead of
purchasing from various sources.
3. More Environmentally Friendly Packaging:
The beverage industry, specifically, is fond to ideas
such as the use of light weight plastic bottle, smaller
bottle cap, and the promotion to use recycle materials.
Trend of Sustainable Packaging
1. Clearer Labelling: A little more transparency
can help consumers understand more about how to
recycle or eliminate packaging waste properly, as well
as allowing them to access better information and
awareness of what they are buying
2. Lightweight Packaging: Lightweight packaging
is gaining popularity because it has a lot to offer such
as less usage of raw material, lower production cost,
less environmental impact from transportation, and
less waste to be sent to landfill.
3. More Recycle Materials: One simple way to
reduce environmental impact is to use more recyclable
material such as cardboard, recyclable paper and
plastic. Many companies are paying more attention
to the environment and starting to look for a substitute
material that is also harmless.
4. Edible Packaging: Edible packaging is a good
way to dispose all the waste. It is an attempt of many
companies to encourage customers to consume the
product and the package altogether. However, some
challenges persist on the transportation side and
marketing side concerning the fragility of the product
during transportation and how to make consumers
confident about the safety to consume the product
and the package.
5. Smaller Packaging: Using the package that
fits the size of the product is something worth
considering about because extra size package means
extra costs in waste disposal and extra waste amount.
