An infrared thermometer is a yielding an erroneous
contactless device for measuring result that does not
                                                                                                   represent the true
surface temperature that does temperature value.

What kind of situations is the
            infrared thermometer suitable
            for?
The device is suitable for, for example, when
it needs to be used in a high or low
temperature for a prolonged period or for
situations in which corrosive factors such as
acid or heat need to be avoided as well as
for works that necessitate quick measurement
results or for circumstances in which users
need to avoid interferences or contaminations
of the measured systems. It can also be
used to measure temperature in a dangerous
            environment.
            How to accurately measure the
            temperature?
The accuracy of the temperature measured
by the device depends on various factors as
            follows:
               Types and characteristics of the
object’s surface as different types of
objects or surfaces may yield different
emissivity (ε) and reflection (ρ) coefficients.
               The distance between the target
object and the device as an error may be
caused by the medium through which the
infrared radiation travels such as air filled
with vapor, smoke, or dust, which may
partially absorb the radiation before it
reaches the device, thus rendering the
measured result lower than the true value.
The size of the measured area,
calculated from the ratio of the distance
between the target object and the device
(Distance; D) and the spot size of the
measured area (Spot size; S) or D:S, which
shows the ideal distance of measurement.
This is a specification unique to each brand
of device. Users, therefore, should take into
account the specifications that best suit each
particular type of works. If, for example, the
measured spot is tiny, or smaller than the
measured area, the temperature of the
surrounding and irrelevant areas will get
mixed up in the measurement, hence
