he exports of Thai food industry have
expanded to222countries insixcontinents.
As a result, Thailand is considered a
leading food exporter. It is also expected that
the export value of Thai foods will reach THB
2 trillion by 2017.
UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. noticed the
rapid growth of the food industry in Thailand
and other ASEAN countries and subsequently
established an Asian exhibition for food
ingredient industry products and technologies
or “Food ingredients Asia”. The fair gathers
manufacturers and suppliers of food and
beverage ingredients from around the world to
present their goods and technologies that will
positively impact the food industry.Theexhibition
is held every year in Thailand and Indonesia
alternatively, in order to stimulate increased
businessdevelopment includingexchangingand
learning about new technologies between food
entrepreneurs in Thailand and Indonesia, and
foreign entrepreneurs. This year is Thailand’s
turnonceagainwhereby theexhibitionwhichwill
takeplace later thisyear from9–11September
inHalls 102 – 104 at theBangkok International
Trade&ExhibitionCentre (BITECBangna).This
is an important occasion, given that it is the20
th
anniversary of Food ingredients Asia. Through
these two decades, we have always received
excellent feedback from every section and are
proud that the annual growth rate of the fair is
over 25percent every year.
Holding Fi Asia 2015 this time around still
adheres to the core idea of an exhibition which
is tobe the centre for leading foodentrepreneurs
fromaround theworld toexhibit their technologies.
Over 650 companies and entrepreneurs of the
food and beverage ingredients sector from 40
countries responded to join the fair to display
their varied and unique technologies. There will
also be informative international conferences
and seminars on both academic and business
topics, one of which will have the topic of “New
Functional Ingredients for Healthy Living” by the
Food Science and Technology Association of
Thailand (FoSTAT), in addition to several other
engaging seminars from entrepreneurs.
