Asian consumers are familiar with insect
consumption. Insect protein is gaining the
limelight due to environmental problems.
According to a study, the farming of
1 kilogram of insects produces just 1% of
greenhouse gases, such as methane, in
comparison with the production of 1 kilogram
of pork (1 kg. of pork emit greenhouse gas
about 7-12 kilograms). Insect farming also
requires less space, feed, and water than
other types of livestock farming. Interestingly,
insects yield higher protein contents than
