                                                                           If we want to compare the average SEC values of refrigerators
                                                                        with the same volume, we can calculate the average annual
                                                                        energy consumption (“E” in kilowatt-hours per year) and the
                                                                        average SEC value using the following equations
                                                                           If the measured SEC of the cold storage is not higher than
                                                                        the calculated SEC, it indicates that the energy efficiency of the
                                                                        cold storage is better than that of an average-sized facility.
                                                                        However, the equations used to calculate the average annual
                                                                        energy consumption and the average SEC are derived from
                                                                        regression analysis of survey data, which may not be entirely
                                                                        accurate and precise. These are preliminary values that show
