FFA–TheNo. 1 for themeat industry – is themeetingplace for the
entire meat sector. This year, Messe Frankfurt expects some 960
exhibitors fromaround50 countries, includingall market leaders, to
present their top innovationsat the fair. In the fullybooked-upexhibition
halls, they will show new products, technologies and solutions for all
stagesof themeat-processingchainonaround110,000squaremetres
of exhibition space. In the regionof 60,000 trade visitors fromover 140
countries are anticipated.

The internationaldemand formachineryandequipment for themeat
industryhasseenanupward trend foryears.This isnotsurprising,since
theglobalmeat industry isaverydynamicgrowthmarket.Theworldwide
consumptionofmeat isgrowingby2-3percentannually.Thusmachinery
manufacturersaround theworldareoptimisticand theycomewithhigh
expectations to IFFA2016. RichardClemens,ManagingDirector of the
German Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association of
the VDMA: “For machinery manufactures, IFFA is the most important
trade fair. With its clear focus onmeat, it offers not only an unrivalled
spectrum of solutions but also a great concentration of experts. There,
thespotlight ison innovationsand trendsoriented towards theneedsof
themarket,whichgeneratedecisive impulses forshaping the future.The
highdegreeof internationalityat IFFAshows that Frankfurt is the firmly
establishedmeeting place for the global network of themeat industry.”
Thefiguresconfirm that “IFFA is top” in termsofboth
exhibitor and visitor internationality.
57 percent of the companies taking part as exhibitors in 2013 were
headquartered outside Germany. The top ten exhibitor nations
excludingGermanywere Italy, theNetherlands,Spain, theUSA,France,
Denmark, Austria, the United Kingdom, China and Poland. With over
400 companies, the biggest exhibitor contingent came fromGermany.
Theproportionof visitors fromabroadwas61percent in2013with trade
visitors from the industry, retail trade and butchers’ trade.
Inaddition to theproduct innovationsshownby theexhibitors, IFFA
ischaracterisedbyamulti-facetedcomplementaryprogrammeofevents
that spotlights the latest developments in the sector. Expert lectures
with best-practice examples, special shows, panel discussions and
competitions give visitors the chance to gather information, enter into
discussions and tomakenew contacts.
