Fruit Exports in theFirst Quarter of 2017
According to the statistic from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and
CustomsDepartment inVietnam, in the first quarter of this year, fruits export was valued
USD700.6millionor an increaseby29.8percent compared to the sameperiod last year.
It is expected that Vietnam’s fruits export valuewill reachUSD 3billion this year.
In the first quarter of the year, major export markets for Vietnam fruits are included
Chinawithexport valueofUSD511.9million, accountingby73.1percent from total export
value; following by the United States (accounted at 3.54 percent), South Korea (3.14),
Japan (3.01 percent), andThailand (2.1 percent) andetc.
Vietnam ships fruits tomore than60 countriesworldwide. Some kindof fruits suchas
lychee, rambutan,dragon fruit,mango,and longancanbedistributedhighstandardmarket
such as to the United States, Australia, Japan, and South Korea. Early this year, many
Vietnam fruitscanpenetrate tonewmarkets i.e.mango toAustralia,dragon fruit toTaiwan,
and longanand lychee toThailand. Vietnam farm sector has also supportedenexport of
cainitoandmango to theUnitedStates, purpledragon fruit to Japan, and cainito, longan,
