is “dental fluorosis”, the incomplete development
ofdentalenamelwhichdistort theshapeandcolour
of teeth. The mottling of tooth enamel is caused
whenconsumers regularlydrinkwaterwithfluoride
content exceeding 0.7 milligrams per litre, which
isabovenormal standard.Unusually,fluoride level
inwater fromsomeareas isevenup to4-5milligram
per litre.Patientswhosufferwith thisconditionmay
have short and fragile teeth, especially central
incisor. In moderate cases, white strips can be
found on the patients’ teeth, while in mild cases,
brownstain is rather spotted. Inseverecases, the
patients’dentinelementsarevery fragileandbreak
easilywhen chew or bite solid food.
Fluoride level inwater canbeevaluatedusing
methods such as Ion-Selective Electrode (ISE),

to stir samples. Tools that can program
thespeedand timestirringsamplesand
standard solution equally can be highly
trusted. All in all, the level of fluoride in
drinking water should range between
0.1-10mg/L.
